Sadly, the island I normally operate from in the Caribbean (Palm Island - St. Vincent) was completely wiped out by Hurricane Beryl in July 2024.. I therefore started looking for another place to operate from. Luckily enough I found the absolutely fabulous Bequia Beach Hotel on Bequia Island to operate from, just a stones throw from Palm Island.

What makes Bequia Beach Hotel particularly special is its sense of tranquillity. Days can be spent relaxing beside the pool or on the beach, enjoying a leisurely lunch overlooking the sea, or operating my Amateur Radio Station. There’s no radio noise just quiet bands 160 through 6 meters — Beautiful surroundings, friendly people and that unmistakable feeling that life has slowed down for a while. It’s the sort of place that’s very difficult to leave and even easier to want to return to.

I'll be running the Yaesu FT991A - 100w into a 10 metre vertical antenna (via a 9:1 UnUn) with 4 6 metre radials.
